Yar’adua hails APC consensus, vows stronger Senate impact for Katsina

Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, has welcomed his adoption as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2027 senatorial election, describing the development as a political endorsement of his legislative performance and a mandate for deeper impact.
The endorsement was reached at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Katsina Government House on Thursday, April 30, 2026, where party leaders unanimously backed his return bid for a second term in the Senate.
Yar’adua said the consensus reflects not just internal party alignment but also a broader expectation from constituents for continuity in representation and development-driven legislation.
He noted that a second term would position Katsina Central to benefit more from legislative influence, committee leadership opportunities, and stronger advocacy for federal projects across the district’s eleven local government areas.
According to him, experience and stability in the Senate remain key factors in attracting development to the constituency and strengthening its voice at the national level.
The senator commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and the Katsina APC leadership, led by Dr. Bashir Gambo, for what he described as a carefully managed and peaceful consensus process that reinforced party unity.
He said the outcome demonstrates the APC’s growing internal cohesion in Katsina State and its capacity to resolve political competition without rancour.
Yar’adua also acknowledged the continued support of constituents since his first election, urging them to sustain their confidence as the 2027 polls approach.
He pledged to intensify constituency engagement and expand ongoing development efforts if re-elected, stressing that governance outcomes remain central to his political focus.
“With renewed mandate comes greater responsibility. Our goal is to ensure that Katsina Central continues to have a stronger voice and visible development impact at the national level,” he said.
