The Acting National Secretary of the Okun Development Association (ODA), Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, has congratulated an illustrious son of Okun land, His Excellency, Ambassador Audu-Rafiu Olusola Enikanolaiye, on his appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
He described the appointment as well-deserved, strategic, and reflective of President Tinubu’s continued commitment to competence, experience, and professionalism in governance.
According to him, the choice of Ambassador Enikanolaiye is not only fitting but also significant for Nigeria’s diplomatic direction, given the minister-designate’s extensive experience, global exposure, and longstanding service in the foreign affairs sector.
Aiyenigba noted that the appointment would further strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy architecture, enhance strategic engagement with global partners, and advance the country’s economic diplomacy agenda in a rapidly evolving international order.
He added that Ambassador Enikanolaiye’s background in the diplomatic service, including his tenure as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and his role as Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs and International Relations to the President, places him in a strong position to contribute meaningfully at the ministerial level.
The ODA scribe further described the minister-designate as a distinguished public servant whose career reflects discipline, integrity, humility, and exceptional commitment to national service.
“Ambassador Enikanolaiye represents the finest ideals of public service. He is a personification of the Omoluabi ethos and a true embodiment of ethical leadership, moral courage, and excellence,” he said.
He also commended the minister-designate for his consistent commitment to unity, community development, and the promotion of national cohesion, noting that he has remained a strong bridge-builder across diverse constituencies.
Aiyenigba observed that Enikanolaiye’s elevation to the Federal Executive Council is a source of pride not only to Okun Nation but also to Kogi State and Nigeria at large, given his contributions to diplomacy and nation-building over the decades.
He expressed confidence that the new minister would justify the trust reposed in him by the President, and make meaningful contributions toward repositioning Nigeria for greater global relevance.
“I am confident that Ambassador Enikanolaiye will distinguish himself in this new assignment and further elevate the name of Okun Nation and Nigeria on the global stage,” he stated.
He concluded by wishing the minister-designate success, wisdom, and divine guidance as he assumes responsibility at a critical moment in Nigeria’s foreign policy engagement.
