Akwa Ibom Governor Showcases Vision for Modern Infrastructure, Local Empowerment

Uyo, Akwa Ibom – April 14, 2026 – In a dynamic display of hands-on governance, Governor Pastor Umo Eno today toured key infrastructure projects across Akwa Ibom State, signaling a renewed push toward modernity, innovation, and inclusive development.

The Governor’s first stop was the Aviation Village, a 15-hectare estate designed to house aviation staff ahead of international flight operations. Beyond the 100 two- and three-bedroom apartments and modern school facilities, the project stands out for its emphasis on female-led construction teams, reflecting the administration’s commitment to gender inclusion in high-impact projects.

At the Equipment Leasing and Maintenance Plant, Governor Eno underscored the state’s focus on mechanized agriculture as a catalyst for economic growth. The facility, equipped with tractors, implements, and maintenance workshops, promises to boost productivity while creating local technical jobs, positioning Akwa Ibom as a hub for agricultural innovation.

The Governor also visited the site of the upcoming CNG Mass Transit Bus Terminal, a project poised to modernize public transport. Featuring a gas filling station, training academy, maintenance workshops, and supporting amenities, the terminal embodies a forward-thinking approach to sustainable urban mobility.
