Accord stakeholders unite behind Olawepo-Hashim, deepen grassroots mobilisation

Stakeholders of the Accord Party in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states have intensified grassroots mobilisation in support of the presidential aspiration of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, signalling a renewed effort to strengthen the party’s presence across the North-West ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The move followed a series of consultations and stakeholder engagements across the three states, where party members reaffirmed their commitment to the Accord Party and pledged support for what they described as Olawepo-Hashim’s vision of national unity, economic revival and inclusive governance.

In Jigawa State, supporters drawn from the 27 local government areas endorsed the former presidential candidate, describing him as a leader with the experience, credibility and national outlook required to tackle Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

The supporters pledged to embark on extensive grassroots campaigns, community outreach and membership drives aimed at expanding the party’s support base across the state.

The mobilisation drive has also gained traction in Kano and Katsina states, where party faithful vowed to consolidate local structures and deepen political engagement at the grassroots level.

Party leaders said the growing momentum reflects increasing confidence in the Accord Party’s political direction and its determination to emerge as a viable platform in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

At an emergency stakeholders’ meeting, members also reaffirmed their loyalty to the party, insisting that Accord remains a legally recognised political party pending the final resolution of matters currently before the courts.

They urged members nationwide to remain united, avoid actions capable of undermining the party’s cohesion and focus on strengthening structures ahead of future political contests.

Observers say the endorsement of Olawepo-Hashim across key North-West states could bolster the party’s visibility and organisational strength as political realignments begin to gather pace ahead of the 2027 elections.
