Obidient Movement Realigns, Adopts NDC as New Political Platform

The Obidient Movement has announced a significant political realignment, declaring its full adoption of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as its new vehicle for advancing its reform-driven agenda.
The decision follows the reported exit of former presidential candidate Peter Obi from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move the group described as necessary for building a more stable and credible political structure. His subsequent alignment with the NDC alongside former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is being presented by supporters as the foundation of a wider reform alliance aimed at reshaping Nigeria’s political direction.
According to the national coordinator of the Movement, the shift reflects a strategic response to what he described as the need to move from scattered activism to a unified political structure capable of translating popular aspirations into governance outcomes.
He urged members across Nigeria and in the diaspora to immediately begin registration into the NDC at ward level. He also disclosed that a digital registration platform has been activated to ease participation and broaden access for supporters.
Reaffirming its ideological stance, the Movement stressed that the development should not be viewed as a departure from its founding mission but rather an evolution toward a more structured political engagement focused on accountability, competence, and people-centered governance.
The statement further called for unity among supporters, insisting that sustained coordination is essential for what it described as the broader goal of national transformation.
It concluded with a rallying message that “a New Nigeria is not just a vision, but a mission in motion.”
