Jigawa Ramps Up Health Safety As Pilgrims Begin Vaccination For 2026 hajj

In a proactive move to prioritise the health and safety of intending pilgrims, the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced a statewide vaccination exercise ahead of the 2026 Hajj.
The initiative signals an early and strategic start to preparations, placing medical readiness at the centre of the state’s pilgrimage planning.
In a statement issued in Dutse by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura (ANIPR), the exercise was described as a critical step toward ensuring a seamless and incident-free Hajj experience.
Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, underscored the importance of the vaccination, declaring it mandatory for all intending pilgrims. He noted that beyond meeting international travel requirements, the exercise is designed to shield pilgrims from health risks associated with large gatherings.
According to him, the board is focused on guaranteeing not just a successful pilgrimage, but one defined by safety, preparedness, and adherence to global health standards from departure to return.
Reinforcing this, Head of the Medical Team, Dr. Abubakar Habib, confirmed the availability of adequate vaccines and assured that the exercise would be sustained until every registered pilgrim is covered.
Also, Director of Hajj Operations, Muhammad Garba, called for strict compliance with health protocols set by Saudi authorities, stressing that adherence remains key to a smooth Hajj operation.
The Board further acknowledged the support of Governor Umar Namadi, noting that his administration’s commitment continues to strengthen the state’s capacity to deliver a well-coordinated and successful 2026 Hajj.
