NGO Faults NANS President Over False Allegations Against Seyi Tinubu

The Peoples Assembly of Nigeria (PAN) has strongly condemned the factional president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Abubakar Isah, for allegedly spreading false accusations against Seyi Tinubu.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Usman Nagadi, PAN described Isah’s claims as baseless, politically motivated, and driven by failed attempts at extortion.

“Our findings revealed that Atiku Isah sought N100 million from Seyi Tinubu and, when rebuffed, turned to the opposition to launch a smear campaign. His allegations are riddled with inconsistencies and hold no truth,” Nagadi said.

He urged Isah to publicly apologise and cease the defamation or face legal consequences, warning that such misuse of a student platform for personal vendettas undermines the integrity of youth representation.

Seyi Tinubu had earlier responded to the claims—which included bribery, abduction, and coercion—denying ever meeting Isah or offering any financial inducement. Describing the allegations as “completely fictional,” he said on Instagram:
“Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”
Tinubu clarified that he has never had any dealings with Isah, in Lagos or elsewhere.
The controversial claims were made by Isah during a press conference where he alleged that Tinubu and Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, offered him N100 million to endorse President Tinubu’s administration—an offer he claimed to have rejected.

PAN has called on relevant authorities to investigate the matter and hold Isah accountable for attempting to tarnish reputations through falsehoods.
