In a striking case highlighting systemic issues within the Nigeria Police Force, Corporal Yusuf Aliyu of the Dambam Division has officially resigned after enduring two years without access to his salary.
His resignation, effective September 30, was prompted by unwavering frustrations over unresolved payment problems.
In a heartfelt resignation letter dated August 30, 2026, Aliyu detailed his struggle to access his salary, which he claimed was processed and reflected in the system but remained out of reach.
The prolonged financial distress has not only affected his personal finances but has also severely impacted his ability to support his family.
“I followed every procedure and reported the issue repeatedly, yet there was no resolution,” Aliyu wrote, expressing his disappointment.
His resignation underscores a growing dissatisfaction among officers facing similar hardships within the force.
