2027: Group Backs Ododo to Lead Tinubu’s Campaign in Kogi
By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja
The Jagaban Grassroots Movement, a political pressure group, has expressed confidence in Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo following his appointment as Deputy Director in charge of Finance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
The group also welcomed Ododo’s designation as Kogi State Coordinator of the campaign, saying his roles would strengthen the party’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued by its Coordinator, Samuel Obasun, the group described Ododo’s appointment as recognition of his leadership and organisational capacity within the APC.
Obasun said the governor’s role would help energise party members and supporters across Kogi State and improve coordination ahead of the election.

“The appointment of Governor Ododo as Deputy Director in charge of Finance of the Presidential Campaign Council is well deserved. His appointment as the Kogi State Coordinator of the campaign will further spur all the Ododo foot soldiers to work harder and deliver Kogi State to Mr President,” Obasun said.
The group said Ododo had maintained what it described as peace, unity and discipline within the APC in Kogi, while developing a political structure capable of supporting the party’s campaign.
Obasun also pointed to Federal Government interventions and projects in Kogi under President Bola Tinubu, as well as projects implemented by the state government, as evidence of cooperation between the two administrations.
He said developments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and security could influence voters’ assessment of the APC ahead of the 2027 election.
The group pledged to work with Ododo and other members of the campaign structure to mobilise support for President Tinubu across Kogi State.
Obasun said the movement was confident that the campaign would secure strong support for the APC in the state.
The 2027 presidential election is scheduled to hold on February 20, 2027, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
