PAAU VC Pledges Justice as Security Tightens After Student’s Killing
The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has assured the family of the slain student, Mr. David Ocholi Solomon, that justice will be pursued following the arrest of two suspects linked to the incident.
He gave the assurance during a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Lokoja, where he led senior university officials to sympathize with them over the 300-level Biochemistry student’s death.
Prof. Usman said the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident by the university’s internal security and handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and prosecution. He stressed that the institution is working closely with security operatives to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the killing.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to a safer campus environment, noting that surveillance and security operations have been strengthened. According to him, further reforms aimed at tightening security across the campus and surrounding areas will soon be introduced.
Prof. Usman also reiterated the institution’s zero-tolerance policy on cultism, violence, and other criminal acts, warning that anyone found culpable would face disciplinary and legal consequences.
He commended the support of the state government, traditional leaders, and security agencies in maintaining order around the institution.
In response, the father of the deceased, Mr. Solomon Idachaba, appreciated the university’s visit and prompt reaction, expressing hope that justice would be achieved.
