Oparah hails Otti’s Emergence As Abia LP Guber candidate

The National Organizing Secretary of the Labour Party and Chairman of the Primary Electoral Committee, Oluchi Oparah, has hailed the emergence of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Abia State.
Oparah, who also served as Returning Officer for the party’s governorship primary, described Otti’s emergence as flag bearer as a strong reflection of internal confidence in his leadership and a clear endorsement of his performance in office.
She said the outcome of the primary process went beyond routine party politics, noting that it represented a collective affirmation of trust in the governor’s leadership style and governance direction in Abia State.
According to her, Governor Otti’s administration has continued to define a new governance trajectory anchored on fiscal discipline, infrastructural renewal, institutional transparency, and people-centred development.
Oparah explained that the conduct and outcome of the primary reflected broad consensus within the Labour Party in Abia, where stakeholders aligned around continuity and consolidation of ongoing reforms.
She added that Otti’s emergence as the party’s standard bearer positions the Labour Party for what she described as a more unified and strategically focused outing ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party official further expressed confidence that the governor would continue to deepen reforms, strengthen governance structures, and expand development outcomes across the state.
She also prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and guidance for Otti as he prepares for the next phase of political engagement, expressing optimism that Abia State would witness further stability and progress under his leadership.
With the primaries concluded and Otti formally endorsed, attention within the Labour Party is now expected to shift toward early mobilisation and strengthening of grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
