Obi highlights global commitment to elevate Nigeria’s education sector

Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 elections, Peter Obi, has confirmed that Nigeria’s international allies are keen to support pivotal reforms in the nation’s education sector.

Obi made this assertion following his significant engagements in Germany and the United Kingdom, where he took part in crucial discussions focused on Nigeria’s future.

The former governor of Anambra State stressed that these meetings tackled essential issues such as democracy, electoral integrity, poverty reduction, education reform, corruption, and improvements in healthcare.

He conveyed particular optimism regarding the authentic commitment of international partners to invest in Nigeria’s educational landscape.

Education has always been a fundamental element of Obi’s developmental strategy, as he contends that sustainable progress relies on equipping citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to flourish.

Obi stated that education should not merely be seen as a budgetary item but as an essential investment in Nigeria’s enduring success.

He advocated for a strategic transformation in Nigeria’s economic model, urging a shift from consumption towards production and from dependency to self-sufficiency.

Furthermore, he underscored the importance of effective management of public resources and a cohesive national vision.

Obi pointed out that discussions in Europe highlighted the pressing need for Nigeria to embrace innovative solutions to its development challenges rather than continuing with ineffective policies that sustain poverty.

He articulated a vision for a Nigeria where every child has access to quality education, democracy genuinely reflects the will of the people, healthcare is universally available, and public resources are responsibly managed.

Obi asserted that Nigerians merit fair opportunities for dignified and productive lives.

Having recently returned to Abuja after visits to Benue and Plateau states, Obi remarked that his combined engagements at home and abroad have reinforced his conviction that Nigeria can overcome its challenges through visionary leadership and prudent resource management.

“A New Nigeria Is Within Reach,” Obi pledged.
