“Nobody Can Stop My 2027 Senate Bid” — Echocho Fires Back at Opponents
Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho has firmly declared that he remains the rightful and authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Kogi East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections, dismissing rumours of his withdrawal from the race as political propaganda.
The senator, in a strongly worded statement, denied claims that he had agreed not to contest the APC senatorial primaries, insisting that neither he nor his associates authorised such reports.
Jibrin described the circulating narratives as desperate attempts by political opponents to mislead the public and sow confusion within the party.
“At no point did I step down or indicate any intention not to return to the Senate in 2027,” he declared, adding that he remains fully prepared and committed to seeking the mandate of the people once again.
The lawmaker said those behind the alleged fake reports had resorted to blackmail and misinformation after failing to secure grassroots support across Kogi East.
According to him, the growing confidence reposed in him by constituents has unsettled political rivals who now see propaganda as their only strategy.
He called on APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters across the district to disregard the claims and remain focused on strengthening party unity ahead of the elections.
Jibrin maintained that no campaign of falsehood or sponsored narrative could erase the support and goodwill he continues to enjoy among the people of Kogi East.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the APC and commitment to effective representation, the senator said he would continue to stand with the people and pursue policies that advance the peace and development of the district.
