Nigeria’s fast-growing creator economy will come under the spotlight on Thursday as the Association of Online Media Practitioners and Professionals of Nigeria, APPMEN, brings key players in the digital industry together in Abuja.
The 2026 Aso APPMEN/Content Creators Conference will focus on how Nigerian creators can turn their growing online influence into sustainable income.
The conference has the theme, “Voice, Vision, Purpose.”
One of the major issues to be discussed is how creators can recover money owed to them by global digital platforms.
APPMEN said many Nigerian creators generate huge audiences and billions of views but still face difficulties accessing payments for their work.
The association blamed some of the challenges on platform policies, documentation problems and inadequate support.
Its National Coordinator, Chief Precious Enebuse, said the conference would give creators practical information and contacts to help them recover outstanding payments.
The event will bring together content creators, skit makers, comedians, influencers, journalists, bloggers, media owners and digital entrepreneurs.
APPMEN will also unveil 25 “The Nigeria We Want Ambassadors.”
The association said the ambassadors were selected based on their leadership, integrity and commitment to national development.
Former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, will be formally invested as Chairman of the Council of Patrons.
The Odyong Nyankpa II, HRH Barr. Joel Sabo Aninge, will serve as Grand Patron, while the Emir of Katagum, HRH Alhaji Baba Umar Faruq II, will be National Patron.
Dr Otive Igbuzor will chair the National Advisory Council.
The conference will hold at the AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju Hall, VCN, beside the TETFUND headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.
It is scheduled to begin at 9am on Thursday, September 24.
