Kogi PDP Chair Pushes E-Registration, Warns Ahead of Primaries

By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja
LOKOJA — Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has urged party members to urgently participate in the ongoing electronic registration exercise, declaring it the sole gateway to participation in forthcoming primaries.
Speaking at a press conference in Lokoja, Gambo emphasized that the e-registration process has become a mandatory requirement for all party activities, including voting and contesting in primaries.
“Very soon, the party will commence its primaries. Only duly registered members will be eligible to vote and be voted for, and the only proof of membership lies in this ongoing registration,” he said.
He noted that the registration window remains open, offering members across the state sufficient time to comply, while warning that failure to register could exclude loyal members from critical party processes.
The chairman charged Local Government and Ward leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure that no member is left out of the exercise.
Gambo described non-participation as a setback to the party’s collective progress, particularly at a time it is repositioning for future electoral contests.
He also commended Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for her support in driving awareness and boosting participation in the exercise across the state.
Reaffirming confidence in the party’s resurgence, Gambo declared that the PDP in Kogi is “back on stream” and steadily regaining political relevance.
He stressed the need for unity, cohesion, and inclusiveness, insisting that these values remain central to rebuilding the party’s strength.
The chairman further dismissed claims of internal division, maintaining that the party remains united under its recognized leadership.
Gambo urged members to take the e-registration seriously, describing it as a critical step toward strengthening the party’s structure and securing victory in future elections.
