Kogi at 34: Gov. Ododo Hails Citizens, Pledges Brighter Future
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated citizens on the state’s 34th anniversary, describing the milestone as a moment of reflection and renewed hope.
In a statement he personally signed, the Governor said the anniversary provides an opportunity to look back at the state’s journey since 1991, assess present realities, and chart a course for a more prosperous future.
Ododo noted that despite challenges, Kogi has made notable progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development. “We may not yet be where we desire to be, but we are certainly no longer where we used to be,” he said.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment, the Governor pledged to expand access to quality education, strengthen healthcare, boost agriculture, and create opportunities for industries to thrive.
He urged citizens to uphold peace, embrace hard work, and take pride in the Confluence State. “Together, we will strengthen our unity, deepen our progress, and hand over to future generations a state greater than the one we inherited,” he added.
Ododo wished all Kogites a Happy 34th Anniversary, assuring that his government remains dedicated to the state’s greatness.
