Enitonna Alumni Set to Unveil Bold Masterplan for School’s Future

The Enitonna High School Alumni Association has announced plans to unveil a comprehensive Strategic Development Masterplan aimed at repositioning the historic institution for a new era of growth and global relevance.
The unveiling will take place at a Presidential Luncheon scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Enitonna High School Chapel in Borokiri, Port Harcourt.
Founded in 1932, Enitonna High School remains one of the oldest and most respected secondary schools in the old Rivers and Bayelsa States, with a long-standing legacy of academic excellence, discipline, and leadership.
In a statement, the National President of the Alumni Association, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, described the masterplan as a forward-looking blueprint designed to address critical areas such as infrastructure renewal, academic advancement, digital transformation, student welfare, institutional sustainability, and global competitiveness.
According to him, the initiative represents a collective commitment by alumni and stakeholders to preserve the school’s heritage while preparing it for future generations.
“This is more than a development plan. It is a renewed commitment to the growth and long-term advancement of our alma mater,” he said.
Ohuabunwa noted that the school has produced generations of leaders and professionals across various sectors, adding that it is now the responsibility of alumni to give back meaningfully.
The event is expected to attract a distinguished audience, including prominent alumni, traditional rulers, education stakeholders, business leaders, and members of the wider community.
With the theme, “Uniting Our Past, Building Our Future,” the gathering will also celebrate the institution’s rich heritage and honour notable alumni who have contributed to its enduring reputation.
Among those to be recognised are former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austin Adiele Opara, and Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, both of whom exemplify the school’s tradition of leadership and service.
Established by missionary and educationist Reverend Lionel Randall Potts-Johnson, Enitonna High School continues to stand as a symbol of educational excellence and social impact in the Niger Delta.
Stakeholders say the unveiling of the masterplan signals the beginning of a new phase in the institution’s journey, driven by innovation, sustainability, and a renewed vision for the future.
