At Sallah Ododo Lauds Traditional Rulers, Pledges Stronger Ties for Peaceful Kogi
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended traditional rulers for their role in maintaining peace and stability in the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to working closely with them for sustainable development.
Speaking after observing Eid prayers at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center in Lokoja, Governor Ododo emphasized that unity, tolerance, and collaboration are essential for progress. He urged citizens to uphold peaceful coexistence and set aside differences to build a stronger Kogi.
During a Sallah homage at the Government House, the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir (Maikarfi IV), led members of the community to pay their respects to the governor. In his remarks, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude for the Maigari’s prayers and support, pledging to deepen partnerships with the traditional institution to bring governance closer to the people.
“The role of traditional rulers in fostering peace and unity cannot be overstated. Your support has been instrumental, and we will continue to work together to strengthen our communities,” Ododo said.
The Maigari of Lokoja praised the governor’s leadership, highlighting his efforts in promoting unity across the state. He urged citizens to remain law-abiding and committed to the collective good of Kogi State.
Governor Ododo also received heads of security agencies, senior government officials, and Lokoja residents who paid him a Sallah homage, reinforcing his administration’s focus on security, inclusivity, and grassroots engagement.
