He recalled his personal association with Tukur, particularly through investments in Adamawa State, the promotion of indigenous shipping and the implementation of the mandate of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) under Tukur’s leadership.

According to Adebayo, Tukur’s commitment to national and continental development made him an important figure in Nigeria’s political and administrative history.

He extended his condolences to Tukur’s family, the government and people of Adamawa State, as well as his friends, associates and other Nigerians mourning his death.

“Nigeria has lost an experienced leader and statesman of remarkable accomplishment,” Adebayo said.
