Kano Federal Lawmaker Mohammed Hassan Dies at 62

A member of the House of Representatives representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in Kano State, Hon. Barrister Mohammed Hassan, has died at the age of 62.
According to a statement by Muhammed Yaro Daba, Chairman of the lawmaker’s Media Promoters, Hassan passed away on Friday at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
Daba described the late legislator as a respected legal practitioner, community leader, and committed public servant who served his constituents with dedication. He added that funeral prayers would be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at his residence in Abuja.
The statement also prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, while urging family members and associates to find strength in the loss.
Hassan was elected in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) before later moving to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He was last seen publicly at a political meeting in Abuja and is survived by three wives and 18 children.
His death marks another loss in Nigeria’s National Assembly, where colleagues and associates are expected to pay tributes in the coming days.
