Group Backs Tinubu for 2027, Targets 50 Million Youth Signatures
A civil society group, Signature Nigeria 2027, has declared that Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the best option for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general election, citing what it described as bold reforms and decisive leadership over the past three years.
Speaking in Abuja, the group’s Director General, Mayor Enujioku, said President Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon courage in tackling longstanding economic and structural challenges that previous administrations avoided.
According to him, the President inherited a struggling economy but has since taken “tough and necessary decisions” to reposition the country. He urged Nigerians, particularly young people, not to be distracted by political developments ahead of the next election cycle.
Enujioku argued that among potential contenders, Tinubu stands out as a tested leader with the capacity and experience to drive national recovery. He maintained that the President’s actions reflect a willingness to make difficult choices in the country’s interest.
The group highlighted key policies, including the removal of fuel subsidy, which it said has freed up resources for development initiatives. It also pointed to progress in domestic refining capacity, referencing the role of the Dangote Refinery in improving fuel supply across the country.
Additionally, Signature Nigeria 2027 praised the administration’s push for reforms such as state policing and resource control, which it believes could address insecurity and promote more balanced development across regions.
As part of its mobilisation strategy, the group announced plans to launch a nationwide campaign targeting young Nigerians. It aims to gather between 50 million and 100 million signatures in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Enujioku, a former leader of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, said the initiative is designed to build grassroots support and raise awareness about the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
He expressed confidence that with sustained engagement, Nigerian youths would rally behind the President, describing him as the most capable candidate to navigate the country through its current challenges and consolidate ongoing reforms ahead of 2027.
