The Faruk Support Organization (FSO), a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) support group in Jigawa State, has expressed strong approval of the party’s decision to zone its national chairmanship position to the North-West geopolitical zone.

In a statement made available to National Update in Dutse, the FSO described the development as “a welcome and strategic step” and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for demonstrating “progressive leadership” in reinforcing the party’s internal structure. The group highlighted that this move signals the party’s readiness to conclude its zoning arrangements ahead of the forthcoming national leadership elections.

Ambassador M.S. Ringim, an official of the FSO, revealed that Jigawa State is gaining serious consideration for the position, with growing support rallying around former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, as a top contender. Ringim noted that Aliyu, who represented Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency between 2003 and 2007, remains one of the foundational pillars of the APC at the national level.

Supporting the endorsement, Comrade Ali Maina, former APC State Administrative Secretary, emphasized that the current political climate calls for a chairman of unquestionable integrity, strong character, national appeal, and a clean record free of anti-party tendencies. According to Maina, Aliyu embodies all these qualities, describing him as “a symbol of loyalty and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals.”

Aliyu’s supporters argue that his unblemished political, professional, and social record has earned him widespread trust across the party’s structures. “He is one of the most reliable pillars the APC can count on to maintain unity, stability, and progress,” Maina said, further noting that Aliyu’s political approach is distinguished by consistency and principled engagement rather than desperate manoeuvres for relevance.

The FSO expressed confidence that, if given the mandate, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu would build on his long-standing contributions to the APC and further advance the party’s vision at both state and national levels.
The APC is expected to finalize its zoning arrangements in the coming days, paving the way for official nominations and broader consultations within the party ahead of the national leadership election.
