Agara’s Ex-DOP, Former Deputy Speaker Tsentse Dumps APC for ADC
Mr. Nehemiah Tsentse, a former Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and one-time Director of Protocol to former Deputy Governor Silas Agara, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
His resignation was conveyed in a letter dated Thursday and addressed to the APC Chairman of Ninghaan Ward in Akwanga Local Government Area.
Sources close to Tsentse said the decision to defect followed “careful consideration,” marking a significant shift given his longstanding influence within the APC and his role in state governance.
Political observers describe the move as reflective of deeper undercurrents in Nasarawa politics, where rising dissatisfaction within dominant parties is pushing seasoned politicians to explore alternative platforms. Tsentse’s exit comes at a time when internal dynamics within the APC are under heightened scrutiny ahead of forthcoming elections.
During his tenure as Deputy Speaker, Tsentse was noted for his involvement in legislative processes and constituency engagement. His stint as Director of Protocol to Agara also underscored his administrative and diplomatic experience within the executive arm.
Analysts believe his defection could boost the ADC’s visibility and strengthen its appeal across key local government areas, especially among voters seeking fresh political options.
While both the APC and ADC are yet to issue formal statements on the development, Tsentse’s move adds to the wave of realignments shaping the state’s political landscape.
