The Jigawa State Government has commended the Chairman of Buji Local Government Area, Hon. Najibullah Falalu Tukur, for his sustained efforts in renovating and upgrading health facilities across the council.
The commendation came from the Deputy Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel, who also chairs the State Primary Health Care (PHC) Task Force, during an inspection visit to PHC centres in Gantsa, Sagu, and Yayari communities of Buji.
Engr. Gumel expressed satisfaction with the quality and scope of work done so far, describing the ongoing upgrades as a step toward improving access to quality healthcare in rural areas. He, however, urged the council to intensify efforts at the Sagu Primary Healthcare Centre to ensure more efficient service delivery.
The Deputy Governor also praised traditional rulers for mobilising community members to utilise the healthcare centres, noting that their continued support remains critical to achieving universal health coverage in the state.
In his response, Hon. Najibullah Falalu Tukur reaffirmed his commitment to complement Governor Umar Namadi’s 12-point development agenda, particularly in strengthening the health sector.
He called on residents to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery and overall community wellbeing.
Engr. Gumel was accompanied on the inspection tour by the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Sambo Shehu, and other top government officials.
