Nigeria @65: Senator Natasha Urges Unity, Renewal
Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has called on Nigerians to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers by working together to build a just, secure, and prosperous country.
In her Independence Day message marking Nigeria’s 65th anniversary, she said October 1 should be more than celebration, but a time of reflection and renewal.
Senator Natasha acknowledged the country’s economic struggles, insecurity, and inequality but pointed to Nigeria’s resilience, creativity, and innovation as proof that the future remains bright. She highlighted the contributions of young entrepreneurs, farmers, and artists shaping Nigeria’s global reputation.

“Our task now is to turn our vast potential into real progress — to ensure no Nigerian is left behind, and to hand over to future generations a country they can be proud of,” she added.
She called for unity beyond ethnic, religious, and political lines, stressing that accountability, service, and integrity must define leadership at all levels.
“By honouring our past, embracing the present, and marching with renewed hope, we can bring to life the Nigeria our heroes envisioned,” she concluded.
