Katsina at 38: Yar’adua Urges Citizens to Turn Heritage Into Future Prosperity
Katsina State’s 38th anniversary, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua says, should be seen not only as a celebration but as a springboard for bold action and shared responsibility.
The Katsina Central senator congratulated residents on Monday, commending their resilience and unity since the state’s creation by General Ibrahim Babangida on September 23, 1987.
“Thirty-eight years ago, Katsina was born out of vision and courage,” Yar’adua said. “Today, that same spirit must guide us as we confront development, security, and opportunity challenges.”

Highlighting Katsina’s identity as Nigeria’s “Home of Hospitality,” Yar’adua pointed to the Sallah Durbar and Gani Festival as cultural treasures that reflect both pride and resilience. But he stressed that the anniversary must also serve as a launchpad for the future.
“This celebration should ignite fresh energy,” he said. “Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s ‘Building Your Future’ agenda is a practical blueprint—modernizing agriculture, empowering our youth, strengthening infrastructure, and safeguarding communities. It’s up to all of us to bring that vision to life.”
He called on youths, elders, and community leaders to close ranks: “Our diversity is our strength. United, Katsina can become a model of stability and growth for Nigeria and beyond.”
Wishing residents a happy anniversary, Yar’adua added: “May this day renew our pride, deepen our unity, and inspire a future worthy of our dreams.”
