In a major political development ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign, aligning with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, to drive the Renewed Hope agenda in Abia State and across the Southeast.

Ogah made his declaration during a strategic visit to the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) office in Umuahia on Saturday, where he praised the Deputy Speaker’s impact in the National Assembly, especially his instrumental role in the creation of the South East Development Commission (SEDC)—a long-awaited initiative aimed at reconstruction, reconciliation, and regional development.

“My brother and friend, we’ve always worked together. Today, I’ve come to join forces with you to ensure Renewed Hope Partners succeed in Abia. With unity, people power, and social capital, we will make sure this movement delivers. The President should go and sleep—we’ve got this,” Ogah declared.

The business mogul and Chairman of Master Energy Oil emphasized the importance of strategic teamwork and community mobilization, assuring that his alliance with Kalu is backed by robust grassroots structures and unwavering resolve.

“We’ll deploy all we have—our influence, networks, and resources—to support this cause. We have a structure, and when that structure backs a candidate, victory is assured. What you’ve done for the Southeast, especially with the SEDC, cannot be overstated. You’ve brought to life what has been denied us since 1970. For that, we thank you and urge you to keep going,” he said.

He closed on a reflective note:

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Everyone has a place. What God has purposed will surely come to pass.”

Deputy Speaker Kalu, in his response, warmly welcomed Ogah’s support and emphasized the need for unity among political actors in the region.

“We share a common vision. You bring immense value to Abia politics. I see your investments, your capacity, and your commitment to our people. Your support means a lot, and yes—you’re fully on board,” Kalu affirmed.

He also outlined future plans to amplify the president’s achievements beyond the Southeast.

“We’ll be taking this message across Nigeria, showcasing what President Tinubu has delivered. Thousands are ready to join us. With unity, we will make impact. With teamwork, we will win,” Kalu stated.

Political observers view the alliance between Ogah and Kalu as a significant boost to President Tinubu’s base in the Southeast, where political alignment and grassroots mobilization are expected to play crucial roles in the upcoming 2027 contest.
