Timi Frank to Wike: Respect Elders or Risk Political Obscurity

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has issued a stern warning to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, urging him to stop disrespecting elder statesmen if he hopes to earn similar respect in the future.
In a strongly worded statement released in Abuja, Frank condemned Wike’s recent attacks on political heavyweights, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Governor Dr. Peter Odili, and Labour Party’s presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi.
Frank described Wike’s comments as reckless and unbecoming of a public servant, advising the former Rivers State governor to conduct a mental health evaluation to determine whether his actions were driven by personal bitterness or external influences.
“Wike’s lack of decorum raises serious concerns about his mental and emotional stability,” Frank stated. “His disrespectful outbursts against elders reflect poorly on his character and judgment.”
Frank further alleged that Wike’s conduct could be linked to substance abuse, advising him to quit habits that impair rational thinking and adopt a more dignified approach to public engagements.
“No rational leader ridicules respected elders unless under the influence of intoxicants or psychotropic substances,” he said.
The ULMWP Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East also called on Wike to respect Rivers State’s sovereignty and allow Governor Siminalayi Fubara to lead without interference.
“Since leaving office, Wike has hovered over the affairs of Rivers State, stifling growth and undermining governance. He must give Governor Fubara room to deliver on his mandate,” Frank said.
He went further to recommend that Wike seek professional help to refine his public speaking skills, describing his frequent outbursts as a liability to his political reputation.
“If Wike does not change course, it is only a matter of time before he turns his attacks on President Tinubu, just as he has done to others who helped shape his political career,” Frank warned.
Frank’s statement concluded with a plea for Wike to reflect on his legacy and adopt humility as a guiding principle. He reminded the FCT Minister that leadership requires restraint, respect, and the ability to unite rather than divide.
