The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Seyi Makinde, has placed a former Peoples Democratic Party chairman at the centre of his 2027 presidential campaign, appointing former Kaduna State PDP chairman, Felix Hassan Hyat, as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee.
Hyat, who also served as Minister of State for Aviation, will coordinate the national campaign structure of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation as the APM prepares to take its “Reset Nigeria” message across the country.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo.
The move forms part of a broader restructuring of the campaign team, with Makinde also naming former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma, as Deputy Director-General, Administration, and Dr Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Director-General, Operations.
The campaign said the appointments were designed to combine political strategy, administration and grassroots mobilisation as it prepares for the 2027 presidential contest.
Hyat is expected to work alongside APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and other party leaders in coordinating the campaign.
Makinde also appointed directors to oversee key areas including mobilisation, legal and compliance, strategy, communications, finance, volunteers, security, women coordination, youth mobilisation and organisation.
The appointments give the campaign a wider operational structure ahead of the next phase of its nationwide engagement.
Among those named are Hamza Akuyam Koshe as Director of Contact and Mobilisation, Mark Jacob as Director of Legal and Compliance, Richard Ihediwa as Director of Strategic Communications and Armstrong Adah as Director of Youth Coordination.
Retired Commissioner of Police Babangida Ayuba John was appointed Deputy Director of Security and Intelligence.
The campaign said further appointments would be announced in due course.
Makinde, who is also the Oyo State governor, is running for president on the APM platform with former DSS Director-General Lawal Musa Daura as his running mate.
