‘You Rose on PDP’s Back—Don’t Undermine It Now’ Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria tells Fayose, Dino
The political advocacy group Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria has issued a firm rebuke to former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and former Senator Dino Melaye, over their recent criticisms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warning them against turning their backs on the very platform that brought them national relevance.
In a statement signed by Abubakar Muktar, the group described the remarks by Fayose and Melaye as disrespectful, opportunistic, and lacking in political gratitude.
“It is disheartening to see individuals who rose from humble beginnings—one reportedly a bus conductor, the other a bread seller—now attacking the PDP, the same party that transformed their lives,” the statement read.
“They now boast properties in Abuja, Lagos, and even Dubai. None of that would have been possible without the support and goodwill of the PDP.”
Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria reminded the duo that loyalty to a political party is not only about ideology—it is also about honour and respect for the institution that once empowered you.
“Criticism is welcome in a democracy, but what we see from Fayose and Melaye is not constructive. It’s pure sabotage, driven by personal ambition and short-term political calculations.”
The group emphasized that while the PDP is open to reform and internal debate, it will not tolerate efforts to delegitimize or destabilize the party for selfish ends.
“No party is perfect. But the PDP remains Nigeria’s most inclusive, nationally rooted, and enduring democratic platform. It has given voice and visibility to countless Nigerians—Fayose and Melaye included.”
In closing, the group cautioned the public to beware of “political drifters” who speak only when it suits their narrative, and affirmed its commitment to rebuilding the PDP through discipline, integrity, and unity.
“You don’t destroy the bridge after crossing it. Gratitude is the minimum requirement of those who have benefitted from the PDP’s legacy.”
