Top-tier UK boarding schools are set to host the UK Boarding Schools Week in Abuja and Lagos this January, offering Nigerian families a gateway to world-class education opportunities abroad.
Organized by Mark Brooks Education in partnership with the UK’s Department for Business and Trade, the prestigious exhibition will take place at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, and The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, from Thursday, January 16 to Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Now in its 17th year, the event celebrates strong educational ties between Nigeria and the UK, showcasing schools renowned for academic excellence, pastoral care, and leadership development.
Participating institutions include Aldro Preparatory School, Bromsgrove School, Cardiff Sixth Form College, Concord College, Glenalmond College, Lancing College, Malvern St James Girls’ School, and Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate. Also featured are St Peter’s School, York, The King’s School, Canterbury, and Wellington School.
Dr. Michael Truss, Head of Concord College, hailed Nigerian students for their exceptional performance.
“Nigerian students thrive at Concord, earning top A-level grades and gaining admission to leading universities,” he said.
Diana Cree of Lancing College highlighted the leadership and resilience of Nigerian students, adding, “They excel in academics, sports, and debates, often rising to leadership positions.”
Henrietta Lightwood of Cardiff Sixth Form College shared success stories of Nigerian students progressing to institutions like MIT and Cambridge University, further underscoring the quality of UK education.
