Timi Frank Demands Tinubu Suspend Wike Over US Property Scandal

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately suspend the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over an alleged multi-million-dollar property scandal in the United States.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Frank warned that Tinubu’s silence on the matter is “eroding public trust” and damaging Nigeria’s global reputation.
“When Betta Edu faced corruption allegations, she was suspended within hours. Why then is Wike, whose case is even weightier, being treated as untouchable?” Frank asked.
Media reports by People’s Gazette and Sahara Reporters allege that Wike purchased luxury homes in Florida, registering them under the names of his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, and their children.

Frank, who now serves as Ambassador of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) to East Africa and the Middle East, described the revelations as troubling, accusing anti-corruption agencies like the EFCC and ICPC of “looking the other way.”

He cautioned that shielding Wike for political reasons ahead of the 2027 elections could destabilize the country.

“Impunity and arrogance from government officials fuel public anger and trigger uprisings. Nigeria must not tread that path,” Frank said, adding that the world is watching Tinubu’s next move.

He praised investigative journalists, including Omoyele Sowore and the publishers of People’s Gazette, for “courageously exposing corruption in high places.”

Frank insisted that President Tinubu must act decisively by suspending Wike, order an independent investigation and demonstrate that no official is above the law.

“Selective justice makes Nigeria a laughing stock among nations. The dignity of this country and the confidence of investors depend on the President doing the right thing,” he declared.
