Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has received the 2026 Most Outstanding Senator of the Year Award at the Nigeria Most Influential Awards (NMIA).
Imasuen, who chairs the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, received the recognition during the 10th anniversary of the awards, organised in collaboration with VGlamour Magazine in Abuja on Saturday.
The event, themed “Celebrating 10 Years of Influence and Impact,” brought together political leaders, business executives, professionals and other guests.
The award organisers recognised Imasuen for his legislative activities, public service and contributions to grassroots development.
The senator dedicated the honour to the people of Edo South, describing it as a recognition of their support and trust.
“I am deeply honoured to receive the Most Outstanding Senator of the Year Award at the 10th anniversary of the Nigeria Most Influential Award,” Imasuen said.
“This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to the resilient and hardworking people of Edo South Senatorial District, whose trust and support continue to inspire my service.”
The award was received on his behalf by former Edo State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo, who conveyed the senator’s appreciation to the organisers and his constituents.
Imasuen said the recognition would motivate him to deepen his commitment to representation, community development, youth and women empowerment, justice and accountability.
“I accept this honour as a call to do more—to speak louder for the people, deliver purposeful representation, empower our youths and women, support community development, and defend the values of justice, accountability and good governance,” he said.
He also thanked the award organisers, his colleagues, supporters, staff and Nigerians for their continued demand for effective public service.
“Let this award remind us that leadership is not about titles—it is about impact,” the senator said.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Convener of the Nigeria Most Influential Awards, Ambassador Vivian Lam, said the initiative had remained relevant because of perseverance and dedication.
“What we are celebrating today is excellence, and I believe that positive impact should not go unrewarded,” she said.
The anniversary programme also featured keynote addresses, cultural performances, live music, comedy, award presentations and the unveiling of a special 10th-anniversary edition of VGlamour Magazine.
The Nigeria Most Influential Awards was established by VGlamour Magazine in 2016 to recognise Nigerians and organisations for leadership, integrity, achievements and contributions to national development.
