Onaiwu to ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi: “Fix Your Shack, Leave PDP Alone”
Earl Osaro Onaiwu, founding Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, has issued a no-holds-barred response to recent jabs from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former PDP chieftain, Bolaji Abdullahi, warning them to “focus on fixing their rented apartment” instead of throwing stones at the PDP.
In a statement released to the media, Onaiwu described the ADC’s attacks on the PDP as both “unwarranted and desperate,” arguing that the party remains Nigeria’s most grounded and nationally respected political institution.
“The PDP isn’t a political bus stop where people jump on and off. We’re not a makeshift structure built for convenience. Ours is a party of legacy, loyalty, and national spread,” he said.
Turning his fire toward Bolaji Abdullahi, Onaiwu didn’t hold back.
“Bolaji should concentrate on settling into his new political shelter. The PDP gave him a name, a platform, and visibility. It’s both graceless and laughable to now hear him insult the very house that raised him,” Onaiwu said.
He called out the tendency of some former PDP members to forget their political roots, likening it to a tenant badmouthing a former landlord while struggling to furnish a new flat.
“The truth is, many of them owe their political relevance to the PDP. Rewriting history won’t change that. You don’t burn the bridge that carried you to the top—unless you’re planning to swim alone,” he quipped.
Onaiwu ended by reaffirming the PDP’s focus on national recovery and institution building, warning opposition voices to get their act together before hurling accusations.
“Our house isn’t up for rent. We’re too busy rebuilding Nigeria to be distracted by party orphans still trying to find where they belong,” he concluded.
