Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to community-driven development during a vibrant stakeholder forum held in Adavi Local Government Area on Monday.
Speaking at the Adavi Local Government Secretariat in Ogaminana, Governor Ododo went beyond promises—emphasizing local empowerment as the foundation of his governance philosophy.
Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah in a statement quoted thus,
“We are not just constructing infrastructure; we are building ownership. Our people must benefit directly from our development process,” he declared to a packed audience of traditional rulers, youth, women leaders, and political stakeholders.
The forum followed the governor’s inspection of ongoing road projects in the area, where he stressed timely delivery and the use of local expertise and suppliers to spur economic activity.
This hands-on approach, he said, ensures that communities are not passive beneficiaries but active participants in the growth of the state.
The Executive Chairman of Adavi LGA, Hon. Bashir Rasheed Okatengwu, lauded the Governor’s interventions in infrastructure, education, security, and governance, describing his leadership as inclusive and responsive.
The event also featured a symbolic gesture of self-reliance: local leaders presented financial contributions to support grassroots development initiatives, reinforcing the governor’s message of collective responsibility.
Governor Ododo urged the people of Adavi to maintain the peace and unity that have made the area a model of stability and growth, assuring them that more government attention and investment would follow.
