Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has thanked God for the successful surgery of Pope Leo XIV, praying for the pontiff’s full recovery.
Obi said he had kept the Pope in his prayers ahead of the procedure.
The former Anambra State governor also prayed for divine guidance for the Pope’s medical team.
“May God continue to guide his medical team, sustain him in this period of recovery and grant him the grace to return fully to his pastoral duties,” he said.
He signed off with his familiar slogan: “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
