Northern Senators Forum Celebrates the Strength, Resilience of Nigerian Women

The Northern Senators Forum has proudly honored the extraordinary contributions of Nigerian women to our nation’s progress on the 2025 International Women’s Day.
In a statement he personally signed, Chairman of the Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yaradua indicated that, this year’s theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality, Empowerment,” serves as a powerful reminder that when women are empowered, entire communities thrive.

“Women are the heartbeat of our families, the architects of our future, and the drivers of economic and social transformation.
“Yet, their potential can only be fully realized when they are given the rights, respect, and opportunities they deserve.
“Ensuring equal access to education and healthcare is not just a moral imperative but a necessity for national development.
According to him,
Education equips women with knowledge, confidence, and the ability to break barriers.
“A well-educated woman uplifts her family, contributes to the workforce, and strengthens society. Likewise, access to quality healthcare ensures that women can lead fulfilling, productive lives, nurturing the next generation and sustaining our collective well-being.

“We must go beyond words and take bold, decisive action to dismantle barriers that hinder women’s progress.
“This includes fostering policies that promote gender equality, protecting women’s rights, and creating inclusive opportunities that allow women to excel in all spheres of life.

“As we celebrate today, let us renew our commitment to building a society where every woman and girl has the freedom to dream, the right to achieve, and the power to inspire.
“Together, we can create a future where gender equality is not just an aspiration but a lived reality.”
