KWARA POLITICS: Saraki Stands Tall as APC Scrambles, Onaiwu Says

Former Director-General of the Saraki for President Organisation, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State to stop using Dr. Bukola Saraki’s name as a political punching bag, describing the party’s attacks as signs of insecurity and distraction.
Reacting to claims that Saraki engaged in political double-dealing, Onaiwu said the former Senate President, a respected statesman and successful businessman, has no obligation to respond to the ruling party’s “internal paranoia or gossip.”
“Dr. Saraki leads with competence, intellect, and bridge-building, not bitterness,” Onaiwu said. “That some feel threatened by his cross-party influence shows their own fragility, not his.”
He reminded APC that under Saraki’s leadership, the Senate was independent, productive, and respected internationally. “Engaging across party lines is a hallmark of democratic maturity. Only insecure politicians mistake dialogue for betrayal,” Onaiwu said.
Turning the focus back to governance, Onaiwu urged APC to address pressing issues in Kwara—rising insecurity, economic hardship, and declining quality of life—rather than recycle attacks on a political figure whose legacy is secure.
“If APC has clarity about 2027, it should communicate it directly to its supporters instead of dragging Saraki into their narrative,” he added.
Onaiwu concluded that Saraki remains focused and unruffled, affirming: “History, not press statements, will be the final judge of his record and legacy.”
