The Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET), the umbrella coalition of civil society organizations in the state, has called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to remain faithful to his 2023 campaign promises, particularly the pledge to entrench good governance and inclusive leadership.

This charge was delivered through a Position Paper presented during KONGONET’s 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held Thursday at the NUJ Press Centre, Lokoja. The paper, jointly signed by outgoing chairman, Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina, and Mr. Reuben Joshua, Secretary-General, was formally presented by Mr. Joshua.

Titled “Implementation of Campaign Manifestos: A Call for Statewide Stewardship and Consistent Engagement,” the paper emphasized the importance of translating campaign ideals into measurable policies and actions.

“As stakeholders dedicated to Kogi’s growth and prosperity, we recognize the critical role of transparent, inclusive, and integrity-driven leadership,” the paper stated. “Governor Ododo has a unique opportunity to reaffirm his commitments and foster collaborative development.”

KONGONET recalled that the governor’s campaign manifesto featured a 12-point strategic vision, with “Good Governance and Leadership” as the foremost priority. This, it noted, was foundational to driving socio-economic progress across the state.

The group urged Governor Ododo to treat the manifesto not as a political checklist but as a living commitment to be faithfully implemented. “Fidelity to these principles will strengthen public trust and lay the groundwork for inclusive, citizen-driven development,” the network said.

KONGONET reiterated its readiness to collaborate with the state government to ensure transparency, inclusivity, and sustainable development.

“Together, through synergy and shared vision, we can catalyze the kind of transformation that leaves no citizen behind,” it added.
