Igala Royal Family Commends Governor Ododo’s Show of Solidarity
The Igala royal family has expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for his heartfelt solidarity during the mourning period of Prince Abdulkadir Kabba, eldest son of the late Attah Igala, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Aliyu Obaje.
Governor Ododo was among dignitaries who attended the eight-day Fidau prayer held in honour of the late prince — a gesture the royal family described as deeply touching and respectful.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the Eje Ofu, Alhaji Akwu Obaje, said the governor’s presence served as a powerful symbol of unity and respect for traditional institutions.
> “Your presence brought immense comfort to the family and demonstrated your strong ties to the Igala Kingdom,” the royal family stated.
The monarch praised Governor Ododo’s leadership, empathy, and cultural sensitivity, noting that his participation reflected a deep understanding of the emotional weight of the occasion.
The Obaje family also extended their gratitude to other dignitaries, institutions, and well-wishers who stood with them during the period of mourning, describing their support as invaluable.
