Gov. Ododo Mourns Pioneer Adavi Chairman
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ozigi Asema Maiyaki, the first executive chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, who died early Wednesday at his home in Ogaminana.
In a condolence message through his Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah, the Governor remembered Asema as a dedicated community leader and a unifying force in the All Progressives Congress in Adavi.
“Late Adayi Ozigi Asema was one of the first leaders I consulted during the 2023 governorship campaign. His wise counsel and unwavering support played a key role in our success in Adavi. His absence will be deeply felt,” Governor Ododo said.
He hailed Asema as a trailblazer whose vision shaped local development, particularly in infrastructure and human empowerment, leaving a lasting legacy for the people of Adavi.
The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of Asema’s soul and urged his family and the community to take comfort in the enduring impact of his leadership.
Asema Maiyaki, who served as Adavi’s first elected chairman under the National Republican Convention (NRC) from 1991 to 1993, remained active in politics until his death at age 74.
