Faleke Debunks Report on Alleged One-Term Agreement in Kogi
The Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has dismissed as false a report published by an online platform, TrackNews, alleging that the Presidency directed former Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Usman Ododo to honour a purported one-term agreement in Kogi State, in which he was reportedly involved.
Faleke described the report as a complete fabrication, stressing that he has never participated in, discussed, or been privy to any arrangement or agreement relating to a one-term deal in Kogi State or any related political understanding.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state categorically that at no time did I have any discussion or involvement in any purported one-term agreement in Kogi State,” he said. “I was neither directly nor indirectly a party to such an arrangement.”
According to the lawmaker, the publication has generated widespread reactions, prompting numerous calls and messages seeking clarification, making it necessary to issue a public response to set the record straight.
He warned that the report is misleading, lacks factual foundation, and should be completely disregarded by the public, noting that its contents do not reflect reality.
Faleke urged media organisations to uphold professional standards of accuracy and verification, particularly on sensitive political matters capable of misleading the public and creating unnecessary tension.
He reaffirmed his commitment to transparent governance and responsible public discourse, adding that he reserves the right to take further steps should false reports of this nature persist.
