Eid-el-Kabir: Kogi CP urges cooperation amongst faithful, assures of adequate security

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered improved security across the State to ensure crime-free Eid-el-Kabir celebrations as he calls for cooperation amongst the faithful.
According to a statement from the Command signed by SP William Ovye Aya, the
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) and made available to newsmen on Thursday, Dantawaye order the personnel to conduct a comprehensive visibility policing.
The CP charged Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders as well as Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to beef up security ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations to prevent any unforeseen circumstances.
He also tasked them to conduct a comprehensive visibility policing and deploy human and other operational assets to carry out confidence-building and crime prevention patrol along the major highways, places of worship.
Other surveillance areas, he said, include residential areas and other critical asset as he also recommended undercover operations to identify criminal hideouts, black spots, and flash points to curtail all forms of crimes and ensure a peaceful environment.
To this end, the CP assured the law-abiding people in the State that the Police is ever determined to work in synergy with other Security Agencies in the state towards ensuring the safety of lives and property during the period.
He called for continued cooperation and support of the people of the state by reporting suspicious activities or objects around their neighborhood to the security formation nearest to them.
While felicitating with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-El-Kabir, the Police Commissioner assured of a hitch-free and crime-free celebration across the state. (Ends)
