Eid-el-Kabir: Jonathan Calls for National Unity, Inclusive Prosperity

As Muslims across the globe mark Eid-el-Kabir, former President Goodluck Jonathan has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, peace, and a collective commitment to national prosperity.

In a Sallah message shared via his official Facebook page on Friday, the former Nigerian leader extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and the diaspora, describing the festival as a sacred moment for reflection and sacrifice.

“On this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria and around the world,” Jonathan stated.

He highlighted the deeper meaning of the celebration, noting that it serves as a timeless reminder of the values of faith, devotion, sacrifice, and generosity—virtues that transcend religion and speak to the soul of the nation.

Jonathan urged citizens to draw inspiration from the season by rededicating themselves to the pursuit of peace, national unity, and inclusive growth.

“This significant day reminds us of our shared humanity and the need to work together in building a future rooted in peace, progress, and shared prosperity,” he added.

The former president’s message comes at a time when the country faces increasing calls for national cohesion and socio-economic reform, making his appeal especially timely.
