Easter: Akpabio Calls for Unity, Reassures Nigerians on Security

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has urged Nigerians to deepen their commitment to peace, tolerance, and unity, stressing that the nation will ultimately triumph over its current security challenges.
In his Easter message, delivered through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President called on Christians to draw inspiration from the resurrection of Jesus Christ by embracing love, sacrifice, and harmonious coexistence.
Extending warm greetings to Christians in Nigeria and across the world, Akpabio said Easter remains a powerful reminder of hope, renewal, and the victory of light over darkness.
He encouraged citizens to work collectively towards building a nation anchored on peace, mutual respect, and shared prosperity, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
While acknowledging the security concerns facing the country, Akpabio reassured Nigerians that the government, under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is actively addressing the situation, with security agencies intensifying efforts to curb violence and restore stability.
He expressed heartfelt sympathy to families affected by violent attacks, particularly the recent killings in Jos, offering prayers for the repose of the victims and comfort for those left behind.
Reaffirming his optimism, the Senate President urged Nigerians to remain steadfast, noting that through unity, resilience, and faith, the country will overcome its challenges and emerge stronger.
