Do Uwais The Honour, Implement His Electoral Reform Report – Senator Nenadi Usman

The Labour Party has urged the Federal Government to honour the legacy of the late Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Uwais, by implementing the recommendations of the Electoral Reform Report he led.

In a statement on Saturday, Acting National Chairman Senator Nenadi Usman praised Justice Uwais as a man of exceptional integrity and unwavering dedication to justice, democracy, and national development.

“To properly commemorate his contributions,” Senator Usman said, “the government must take decisive action to adopt the Electoral Reform Report, a comprehensive framework aimed at deepening Nigeria’s democracy.”

She described his death as a profound loss to the nation, his family, and the judiciary, emphasizing that his leadership set a lasting example for future generations of legal professionals.

“Justice Mohammed Uwais was a distinguished jurist and respected elder statesman whose legacy continues to inspire.”

“His impact on Nigeria’s legal landscape is enduring, and his passing leaves a significant void for the country he served with honour and dedication.”

“On behalf of the Labour Party, I offer sincere condolences to his family, colleagues, and the Nigerian people.”

Senator Usman concluded with a prayer: “May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him the highest paradise, and bring solace to those mourning his loss.”
