Benue Governor’s Aide, Dr. Mkor Aondona, Arrested for Alleged Sextortion, Blackmail
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Makurdi have arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over serious allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.
The arrest, which took place on Friday, June 20, 2025, followed petitions from several female students who accused the aide of using his office to sexually exploit them under false pretenses.
According to the complaints, Dr. Aondona routinely invited young, slim women to apply for ushering jobs, but made sexual favors a condition for selection. The victims alleged that unknown to them, their sexual encounters with the adviser were secretly recorded.
The recordings were reportedly used as tools of blackmail, with Aondona allegedly threatening to leak the videos if the victims refused to continue the sexual relationship. Some of the explicit materials, believed to have been shared without consent, are said to have surfaced online via multiple messaging platforms.
Spokesman of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest and said investigations are ongoing. He added that Dr. Aondona will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
