Peter Obi Meets Bala Mohammed in Bauchi, Pushes Unity and National Dialogue
Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, on Wednesday continued his nationwide consultations with a visit to Bauchi State, where he met with Governor Bala Mohammed alongside prominent Igbo leaders.
Obi while writing on his X-Handle said the meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration among political and regional stakeholders in pursuit of a more united and inclusive Nigeria.
According to him, discussions centred on the need for a “united, secure, productive and progressive Nigeria that cares for all, especially the less privileged.”
The former Anambra State governor described the engagement as “insightful,” stressing that sustained dialogue across political and ethnic lines remains essential to addressing Nigeria’s social and economic challenges.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who hosted the delegation, was said to have held wide-ranging discussions with the group on national cohesion, governance, and development priorities.
Obi, in a brief message after the meeting, reiterated his belief in a better future for the country.
“A new Nigeria is possible,” he said.
The Bauchi visit is the latest in a series of consultations by Obi with political, traditional, and community leaders across the country, as he continues to advocate for reforms aimed at strengthening unity, accountability, and social welfare.
