Nigeria Eyes Global Agribusiness Partnerships as AFAN President Leads Delegation to Brazil
Nigeria is positioning its agricultural sector for greater global visibility as the President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Dr. Farouk Rabi’u Mudi, prepares to lead a Nigerian delegation to the 26th edition of the Expodireto Cotrijal International Agribusiness Fair in Brazil from March 9 to 13, 2026.
The international agribusiness exhibition is widely regarded as one of Latin America’s most influential agricultural trade fairs, drawing farmers, investors, agribusiness leaders, policymakers and technology innovators from across the globe to explore opportunities in modern agriculture, investment and technology-driven farming.
Leading the Nigerian contingent, Dr. Mudi said the delegation will use the global platform to showcase Nigeria’s agricultural potential while engaging international partners on opportunities across the country’s expanding agribusiness value chain.
According to him, Nigeria’s participation reflects a broader effort to attract investment, promote innovation and strengthen partnerships that can accelerate growth within the nation’s agricultural sector.
“This high-powered delegation will showcase the vast agricultural investment opportunities in Nigeria while promoting and leveraging local content development in our agricultural sector,” he said.
Dr. Mudi noted that agriculture remains central to Nigeria’s strategy for economic diversification, job creation and national food security, stressing that collaboration with global investors and industry leaders could unlock new technologies, improve productivity and expand agribusiness opportunities.
He also called on stakeholders, investors and development partners to align with the initiative, adding that stronger global engagement would help position Nigeria as a competitive player in the international agricultural economy.
The Expodireto Cotrijal International Agribusiness Fair is expected to attract thousands of exhibitors and participants from around the world, offering a major platform for knowledge exchange, networking and the promotion of sustainable agricultural solutions aimed at improving food production and agribusiness development.
