Doris Uzoka-Anite Honoured With Ada Ukwu Ndi Orlu Chieftaincy Title

The Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, has been conferred with the prestigious Ada Ukwu Ndi Orlu chieftaincy title in recognition of her outstanding contributions to peace, progress, and development.

The title was formally presented on Monday in Abuja by His Imperial Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Thomas Obiwuru Obiefule, Paramount Ruler of Umudioka Ancient Kingdom, Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
The ceremony, held at Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s office, drew attention to her record of public service and her efforts in fostering development within Orlu Zone, Imo State, and Nigeria at large.

Speaking at the event, Eze Obiefule—also known as Okairuro I Okwara Akubueze II—praised Uzoka-Anite’s leadership and dedication:

“Dr. Uzoka-Anite is one of the distinguished daughters of Orlu we are proud of. In the interest of our people, I came personally to present this certificate to honour her for her public service and support for development.”

In her response, the Minister expressed gratitude for the recognition, dedicating the honour to the Nigerian people and acknowledging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I accept this title with humility and a deep sense of responsibility,” she said. “By the grace of God, I will continue to uphold the dignity of this office and work for peace, opportunity, and prosperity for the people of Orlu Zone, Imo State, and Nigeria as a whole.”
The Ada Ukwu title—meaning “great daughter” or “first daughter” in Igbo tradition—is a revered honour reserved for women who exemplify integrity, leadership, and service to their communities. Orlu Zone, comprising twelve local government areas, is one of Imo State’s most influential regions.

Traditional institutions and community groups have lauded the conferment as a recognition of excellence in public service and a call to inspire more women leaders across Nigeria.
